Welcome. The Carrier Mount Rear Bike Seat is a great investment offering a solution to ride with your child for a wide age range. This seat is suitable for a first child seat and will support your family riding right through to when you and your child are ready for the next family riding solution. Very popular with commuting families and regular riders The seat clamps onto a bike carrier in seconds and thus is very easy to mount onto your bike carrier and switch between bikes ( as long as they also have a suitable bike carrieri). The Carrier Mount Kids Bike Seat is safe for 1-6 years old and up to maximum weight of up to 22kg.Â
Do not use the seat if your child can’t sit upright or is younger than 9 months.  It is against the law in New Zealand to carry a child on a bike if they are not wearing a helmet.

This seat comes to you fully assembled and ready to be attached to a compatible bike carrier – fantastic!

Open the clamp of the Thule Maxi
The first step involves opening the clamp to its widest point or wider than the width of the deck and rails of your carrier.
For ease of handling, place the seat face down with the back towards you.
Insert the key & turn it so the key is horizontal… push in the key and its holder in and turn the knob anticlockwise to open the clamp.
This process of needing a key to open the clamp means the seat is safe and secure – when left unattended. You cannot remove the seat from the carrier unless you have a key.

Attaching the seat to the carrier
With an open clamp simply place the kids seat onto the rear carrier. Turn the large knob at the back of the seat clockwise until the clamp is fully tightened onto the carrier.
The key is not required when closing the clamp.
Secure the seat to the bike
To secure the seat to the bike place the safety strap around the seat post of your bike. Thread the end back into the catch and pull tight.
Adjust the Thule Maxi Seat to Fit your Child
Foot rest adjustment:  The Thule Maxi foot rests are easily adjusted by opening the clip at the back of the foot rests and sliding them up or down – dependant on the length of your childs legs. There are set grooves that they slide into and out of so once you have it set at a good height, simply close the clip to secure it.
Shoulder strap adjustment:Â Â Once your child is in the seat close the shoulder harness and adjust the straps for a firm, secure fit. Â Take your time and practice opening and closing this 5 point harness system. Â You need to push the slider down and move it to release the magnets.
