What are goUnders?

goUnders are a fitted performance underwear with padding (a chamois) sewn in to provide comfort between you and your bike seat when biking. Designed to be worn next to your skin as your base layer. You wear goUnders to improve your bike seat comfort and riding enjoyment.

goUnder Styles

  1. High Waist Brief  – Sizes 8-22
  2. Mid Waist Brief – Sizes 8-18
  3. Boy Leg – Sizes S-XL

High Waist Brief: Sizes 8-22

Mid Waist Brief: Sizes 8-18

Boyleg: Sizes S-XL

How to Choose your goUnder Style

There are a few things to consider and think about when choosing a goUnder style.  The following list will help

  • body shape – each style of goUnder has been designed with a certain body shape in mind, please pay attention to our advice
  • your size – the choices you have will be determined by what size you are
  • your preferred underwear style – all our underwear are comfortable to wear but you may only feel happy in a certain style that you are familiar with
  • the level of padding you want – there are different types of padding to choose from.  Your choice will be influenced mainly by time on the bike
  • the type of riding you do – all our underwear are comfortable to wear but the boyleg goUnders have design features that really suit moving agile riders

Style: High Waist Brief goUnders

Size Range: Available in our widest size range from size 8 -22.

High Waist Briefs are designed to sit high on the body near the natural waistline.  They suit bodies that have above average length between the hip joint and waist (often tall women).  They are the preferred style for curvy, round body shapes.  The higher a waistband sits on your body the less likely you will create a “muffin top” or bulge above the waist elastic – the waist elastic is 32mm wide.  If you normally wear clothes & regular underwear at waist level you will prefer this design.

A High Waist Brief is best suited to:

  • tall riders, tall torso
  • curvy shapes, with added weight around the belly
  • pear shapes, heavy around upper thighs, hip area
  • those who have high waist underwear
  • sizes 8 to 22
Choose your Level of Padding

The High Waist Brief goUnder is available with 2 different levels of padding.  You can choose either Endurance or Minimal Padding.

The Endurance Padding (Chamois) is best suited to rides of more than 2 hours, women who experience a lot of discomfort at the middle or rear of their saddle, or for riding on consecutive days.

The Minimal Padding (Chamois) is best suited to rides of less than 2 hours. It also suits women who want protection but prefer less bulk and anyone suffering from soft tissue compression on the front of a saddle.

Style: Mid Waist Brief goUnders

Size range: Available from size 8 -18.

Mid Waist Briefs sit lower on the body than the high waist option – a full 5cm lower. They are designed to sit across the top of the hips at the height of the two prominent boney points (front of the body).  The waist elastic is 32mm wide providing a firm fixing point. They are best suited to flatter, wide body shapes and those with normal or short length between the hip joint and waist (average height to shorter women).  Best choice for women who wear their clothes & regular underwear at or below this hip level.

A Mid Waist Brief is best suited to:

  • shorter riders, shorter torso
  • flat, wide body shapes
  • petite
  • those who wear their underwear at or below hip level
  • sizes 8 to 18
Choose your Level of Padding

The Mid Waist Brief goUnder is available with 2 different levels of padding. You can choose either Endurance or Minimal Padding.

The Endurance Padding (Chamois) is best suited to rides of more than 2 hours, women who experience a lot of discomfort at the middle and back of their saddle, or for riding on consecutive days.

The Minimal Padding (Chamois) is best suited to rides of less than 2 hours. It also suits women who want protection but prefer less bulk and anyone suffering from soft tissue compression on the front of a saddle.

Style: Boy Leg goUnders

Size range: Available from size S – XL

Boy Legs are designed to sit over the hip, bottom and upper leg area of your body.  They have more leg length and will cover the front of your thigh.  The inside leg length is 1cm.  They are a more modern style of underwear and are a popular shape with youth.  They do offer more fabric to hold your chamois more firmly in place and are therefore better for moving riders.  The elastic at the top edge of the waistband is only 6mm wide so it provides a more relaxed feel.

A BoyLeg is best suited to:

  • straight body shapes – little or no waist
  • round bottom
  • people who prefer minimal elastic support (no hem and narrow waist elastic)
  • versatile design preferred by active riders
  • sizes S to XL
Level of Padding

The Womens Boy Leg goUnders is a performance chamois best suited to wicking moisture and air flow.  Great for sweat management and will dry quickly overnight on multi day rides.  Suits anything between 1-6hrs. The chamois is soft and flexible and moves well with your body. It suits active riders that are on and off their seat, as in mountain biking.

How to wear your goUnders

They become the underwear you ride in. The padding (chamois) sits directly next to your skin.  Do not wear everyday underwear with them. This is important as any additional seams and fabric under your goUnders can cause chaffing and moisture retention and cause issues.  With comfort on your bike seat sorted, with padding in your underwear, you can then bike in your choice of riding clothing. Clothing that matches the season and the weather.  Choose clothing that allows movement and won’t get caught in any moving parts of your bike…
