Balance Bike Sizing Guide
Can your child fit a Balance Bike yet…will it still fit them as they grow. These are important questions to answer when choosing a Balance Bike.
How to Measure for Balance Bike SizeÂ
Your child needs to be able to sit on the balance bike seat and use their legs to propel themselves so SEAT HEIGHT is the key measurement to know whether the balance bike is the correct size
Get the correct sized balance bike by following our simple measurement guide.
You will need your child in shoes they would be likely to ride in, a book and something to measure with (in centimetres), and scales to weigh your child.
How to measure your child’s inseam:
- Have your child in their shoes and stand up straight, with their back against a wall.
- Place a book between their legs and slide it up the wall to meet the crotch firmly as if they are seated on a saddle.
- Make sure your child still has their heels on the ground, then mark with a pencil where the top of the book the touches the wall.
- Measure the distance from the floor straight up to the mark in centimetres (cm)
Measure your child’s weight
- Ask your child to remove their shoes
- Stand the child on the scales and record their weight in kilograms (kg). Note weight is not as important as seat height in determining a balance bike. Read more at: How old should my child be to ride a balance bike. The right Balance Bike.
